With only one episode left, this season of B&B Full of Love is almost at an end. While I feared the five hours a week and seven weeks in front of the TV at the beginning of the summer (that’s where my hours of sunshine went!), I’m even going to miss the B&B owners with all their singles and additional inconveniences. Okay, except for that terribly unsavory voice of Richard and the make-up hugs from Martijn.
Farmer’s Pummel
Where many a program in the last few weeks tends to have a predictable ending, I have the feeling that anything can still happen here! Martijn, for example, has just broken a record in Portugal, by telling his sixth guest Linda within 1.5 hours that he is in love. But again not on her, no on Fenna. This poor Linda probably stood in line at Schiphol longer than she stayed in Portugal. Martijn offers her an overnight stay and breakfast, followed of course by a hug. She clearly does not think about this and that same evening a taxi is at the door.
Before this whole painful debacle, it was all discomfort, by the way. When Martijn is standing on the boulevard of Albufeira with his beach towel – the party place where Fenna worked for a summer – I almost feel sorry for him. Fortunately, even before he gets homesick for his parents, Fenna tactically pulls him into a bar. During the day on the shots, Martijn clearly does not know what he is experiencing. Don’t let his parents see it. Then the Dutch bartender mentions that all the men in this place were after Fenna and that she now ends up with some kind of peasant. ‘I am not a farmer’, is the only thing Martijn can say as a farmer with a toothache. Sometimes it’s better not to say anything…
All time low
In Spain, Dave’s Gym has finally found out that Denise is not the woman of his dreams after all. And we as viewers only struggle for weeks through that boring scene in the gym and all those meaningless conversations, it still comes to nothing. Denise also clearly did not see this rejection coming and goes back half an hour later. With her mother.
If you think this season has already hit rock bottom – campfire ceremony at Martijn! – the attack of mother and daughter really surpasses everything. Denise thinks Dave is fake and entered for completely different reasons. Her mother looks shameless front row and doesn’t seem to have any intention of running away. Denise clearly can’t stand rejection, because Dave can like her and flirt with her, but eventually find out that the feeling isn’t there?!
When Denise ends the attack with the clincher “I’m not angry, I’m disappointed,” tough Dave is in tears. I secretly have to laugh at this whole drama, because when Denise also gets emotional and sits behind the counter in that unsociable reception, suddenly two guests come in. Two guests! I’ve never seen a single guest there in the past few weeks! Who makes up this timing?!
rebound
Fortunately, we still have the Amsterdam Sven, who sees his chance to comfort her. Sven does let it be known that he does not want to play second fiddle. No, buddy, don’t worry. That’s what they call a rebound. By the way, he is turned off by women who are too concerned with their appearance. Then he probably doesn’t know the phenomenon of make-up yet. Because with Denise and her mother’s eyebrows you don’t wake up automatically.
A cold farewell is then also held with Natasja in France. She finally sent Jan home, as he had more eye for Wordfeud on his phone than to woo her. By the way, she does give Jan the bang with exactly the same facial expression when she tells Menno a day later, while canoeing, that she thinks this is ‘the most wonderful experience’. Menno, on the other hand, only walks around with a big smile and meanwhile already talking in the we-form. I wonder more and more how he envisions this match.
Nipple Piercings
Natasja eventually considers whether she wants to give Menno a chance and see through his nipple piercings. While he waits obediently upstairs in his bedroom for this nerve-racking ‘exam result’, Natas retires with a blanket on the couch. I can hardly imagine that her flat facial expression will change into a loving look the next morning. But you never know in this program. And hey, a worse outcome than last season is certainly not possible. Then Cupid didn’t hit the mark once. One more episode to go… And then it comes again: the big black hole. Maybe book a B&B and still make up for all those lost summer hours in the sun.
