This monumental barn will house five luxury homes and a villa next door

There is a monumental barn at the Zegschijneweg 61A, which belongs to the farmhouse ‘t Hof Remstee from 1927. The dilapidated barn will be converted into five spacious houses. We spoke to the architect and asked about the building plans.

You can see the farm and the barn from the Zegschijneweg, on the Oosterheem side. They are on a large and hidden area with tall trees. A beautiful place to live! The farmhouse will remain, the barn will be converted into five unique homes of 220 square meters. In addition, a detached barn house with wooden cladding.

Atrium with front doors

The entrance to the residential complex will be at the front of the barn, where there is now a large sliding door. You enter an atrium with an open roof where the five front doors are. It concerns four corner houses with a fifth house in between, consisting of the ground floor and a first floor. The house has a void through which you can see the ridge of the barn. Outside there will be a terrace for each house.

Joint implementation

Ibelings Van Tilburg Architecten is also building ten parking spaces per home, a communal garden, storage rooms and a jeu de boules court. “The idea is that residents themselves are responsible for filling in the outdoor space,” says architect Marc Ibelings.

The sale of the five homes and the villa will probably take place in the second half of 2022. Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2023.
