The now divorced couple bought the house in 2004. They lived in a ground floor in the nearby Galileïstraat, but were looking for a family home, a typical Hague mansion. ,,I was cycling through the Ieplaan at the time and saw the broker put up the for-sale sign,’ recalls Gé. ,,I got off immediately, had a chat and a week later we were allowed to come and have a look. We fell in love immediately and made an offer.”
