Ivo Niehe arouses a lot of annoyance with Jan Uriot, the star journalist of the weekly magazine Privé. He feels quite disturbed by the 76-year-old presenter. “I don’t think this is fair at all.”
Lately, Ivo Niehe has been in the news a lot because he shows star behavior. Last month he only wanted to be interviewed on NPO Radio 1 if the studio webcams would be turned off and recently he also had all kinds of notes on his vocals at Time for MAX. Critics are surprised: “You’re not Jennifer Lopez!”
In American
And now it appears that Ivo has also caused bad blood with Jan Uriot, the star journalist of the weekly magazine Privé. “Ivo Niehe has a new book called De Afterparty. Well, I sent him an app about three weeks ago, because we know each other,” he says in his column What does Jan think.
What did Jan write in that app? “I wrote in like: ‘Can we meet each other in the Americain to do an interview for De Telegraaf?’”
‘This is not neat’
Well, Ivo didn’t listen to that. “Then he writes back: ‘Hi Jan, Probably because I don’t show my nose anywhere, I am literally besieged by requests to say something. For now I’m putting off all the hassle for me… I’ll let you know! All the best, Ivo.’”
Too bad, Jan thought. “But a week later: in the AD, in the Volkskrant and in Het Parool interviews with Ivo. Then I think: what is that strange? Why don’t you just say you already have a deal with certain newspapers? He should have said that. So I don’t think this is fair at all.”
Confident
Jan finds it striking that Ivo then also starts making demands. “He makes a lot of demands and there is a lot to do about that. I do not know what it is. Insecurity?”
Colleague Wilson Boldewijn: “No, I think he is very confident, but then acts as if he is very insecure. I don’t believe that, but those are my words.”
Very annoying
All in all, Jan is very disappointed in Ivo. “I find it very annoying that he didn’t just talk to us. He should have either come here at the desk or interviewed me.”
