Gerard Joling reveals why he has been absent from Today Inside for so long. According to the singer, his management had too much hassle with it. “They had to straighten everything out for a week!”
A new Gerard Joling single has been released and that is why the singer sat at the bar of Today Inside yesterday evening. During the broadcast he broke in a number of times when the VI men were talking to their table guest Hugo de Jonge, and at the end he was finally allowed to sing his new song.
‘Where were you?!’
It’s been a long time since Gerard was a guest with the men of VI. Host Wilfred Genee: “Where were you all this time Gerard?”
Gerard confesses: “Well, where was I all this time? I have to tell you: I often hear from people: ‘Geer, when will you be in VI again?’ Yes, do you know what that is? The problem was a little bit my management, who said, ‘Each time you’ve been on that program, we’ve got about a week’s work to straighten things out a bit.’”
Not so busy
Now it can be done again, says Gerard. “Well, it hasn’t been so busy for a few days now, so I think: then I can get back in here, and then they can straighten things out a bit tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.”
The singer understands that people sometimes find his performances a bit much. “When I look back at films of myself, I sometimes think: maybe I went a little too far or was it too muchbut we always laughed a lot and had a good time.”
Boring with Angela
Gerard also let slip that he found the Wednesday VI with Angela de Jong a bit boring. “I hope we have a nicer evening than last night, because I found that a bit boring. Look, Angela de Jong had really nice new earrings, but that doesn’t make the evening more fun.”
With his obscene remarks, Gerard occasionally caused a roar of laughter at the table. VI regular guest Raymond Mens tweets: “I have a new goal for 2023: once together with Gerard Joling at Today Inside. Still a lovely guy ??”
