“Steef Verduyn stays, but Tommy van Lent is leaving,” he says in the podcast. “Not because I didn’t have a great time here, but because I really want to continue my studies, because I think I still have a lot to learn.”
Not combinable
Tommy is now following an MBO course to become a film actor and he really wants to finish it. After that, he wants to go to drama school, so that he can learn even more about the profession. He notices that this simply cannot be combined with his shooting days at GTST. “I had to make a choice,” he explains. He does want to make it clear that he has had great years with the soap. “But I’m going out and another actor is going to play my part.”
It is not known how long Tommy can be seen as Steef. It is also not clear who will take over his character in the future.
Tommy van Lent in ‘GTST’
Tommy made his debut in 2019, when he came to Meerdijk with the rest of the Verduyn family. Steef is the son of Julian (Cas Jansen) and Saskia Verduyn (Tamara Brinkman). At first he was only present in the background, but recently he suddenly got a bigger role with Jada Borsato, the daughter of Marco Borsato.
