This is what we know so far about a drug lab in Enkhuizen that has been rolled up

There is still plenty of research going on at a found drug lab in a building on the Voorland in Enkhuizen. For hours, chemicals, raw materials and blue drums have been loaded into trucks. What remains are mainly many questions.

After an anonymous tip, the police start in the ‘night hours’ with a raid on a business premises in Enkhuizen. There they find a working drug lab, but there is no one else to be seen. A spokesperson informs NH News that no one has yet been arrested.

Why they are raiding at that moment remains unclear for the time being. The police are not releasing much about the raid and the ongoing investigation. “The investigation is still in progress, so we are still cautious with details. We are investigating the resources that have been found.”

It concerns the Voorland, located on an industrial estate Krabbersplaat where warehouses are rented. Until two years ago, the building where the drug lab was found was home to confectioner Harry Kort, who baked his tompouces there.

Trucks full

From early in the morning, the police – including the LFO (responsible for dismantling drug labs) and SEON – are busy emptying the company premises. Neighboring companies say they are proceeding with caution.

Agents are currently searching the premises, where several bags of ‘grains’ and blue barrels have been seized. A ‘chemical substance’ would also have been poured over it. “The wind was unfavorable, so we had to leave the site,” said an eyewitness. The sewers are also examined for traces of drugs.

“I don’t know the people there,” someone who works in the area tells NH News. He thought it was a burglary, but is shocked when he learns that it is a drug lab. “I was already shocked when I arrived here and the street was closed off. But perhaps they were in the attic of the building. There is a small window, so you cannot see anything. Ventilation pipes have also suddenly been placed on the roof, they weren’t there at first. But I never noticed anything. We go home at five o’clock, so no idea what happens in the evening.”

A man who has his business there says that he is not in the building. He does have a billboard hanging there. “I am also surprised about what happened. I have not heard anything from the police.”
