Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has commented favorably on the news about Julian Nagelsmann’s upcoming engagement as national football coach.
“Julian has qualities. The DFB has decided on it, they have decided on it. This meets the most important prerequisite,” said Tuchel on Tuesday at a press conference before Munich’s Champions League duel against Manchester United (Wednesday, 9 p.m.).
“There is a decision, you can look forward and have a positive influence on things from now on. Then everything will be fine,” added Tuchel. At the time, neither the German Football Association (DFB) nor Nagelsmann had confirmed a deal. According to a report by BILD, the association and the former Bayern coach have agreed to work together until the European Championships next year.
Nagelsmann is to be the successor to Hansi Flick, who was recently released.
