The new Playstation 5 version will go on sale in the United States already in November, and in other parts of the world in the next few months. The models presented now replace the versions currently on sale.
Sony
Sony has revealed new versions of its Playstation 5 game console. The end result is a console that can fit into even smaller dimensions, with minor improvements compared to its predecessor.
It’s not exactly a Slim model, but the redesigned game console is meant to completely replace its predecessor once stocks are depleted.
The most visible change concerns the renewed design and reduced size of the new PS5 console. At the same time, the weight of the basic version has dropped to 3.2 kilograms, while the Digital Edition without a disk drive weighs 2.6 kilograms.
Another change concerns the device’s disk drive, which is designed to be modular. In practice, the buyer of the Digital Edition version can subsequently purchase and add a separately sold disk drive to the console, which is hidden behind a plastic panel like the basic version.
The third significant change concerns the storage space of the PS5 console, which has been increased to one terabyte.
With the PS5 console, a new stand sold separately, which is compatible with all console versions, will arrive on the market. With the help of a stand, the gaming machine can be placed in an upright position. It costs 30 euros.
The price of the basic Playstation 5 console is announced at 550 euros, while the Digital Edition costs 450 euros. The disc drive, which is sold separately, costs 120 euros.
The appearance of the renewed PS5 console has been expected, because previously Sony unexpectedly significantly reduced the pricing of its older game console.
