Personal dressing, current trends and inventive outfits: these are what Finnish street fashion consists of. We went on foot to photograph Finnish street fashion in the center of Helsinki.

25 years old Aristotle says that he dresses largely based on his feelings.
– I don’t do seasonal dressing or closely follow fashion cycles. Although I shop for clothes mostly in chain stores, I only buy clothes that I know I will wear year after year. For example, I still wear some of my high school clothes, says Aristotle.
– Even though I’m wearing a black and white outfit today, I love colors. And especially matching them to the color of my green eyes.
Dressed in a colorful striped jumpsuit by Finnish fashion and textile designer Vuoko Lotta51, prefers flea markets.
– I buy a lot of clothes from thrift stores and vintage fashion both in store and online. I collect Vuoko’s clothes, which I hunt for, among others, on Tori.fi. I have already accumulated quite a lot of them in my collection, Lotta is happy.

– We follow the styles of influencers on social media, especially Instagram. Street style seen in the city also inspires and may give you ideas for your own dressing, they say.
– One of my style inspirations is my sister, who works in the fashion industry, reveals Sofia.

– I just lived in Madrid and I got a lot of influences for my dressing there. People there dress really nice. Before moving to Madrid, I didn’t shop much at Zara, but when I lived in the city I made a lot of nice finds there, says Amanda.
– In clothes, I pay special attention to their materials. For example, I borrowed this high-quality, brown leather bag from my mother.

– We look for inspiration for dressing on social media and especially on Tiktok, the friends say.
Leena, 46, makes most of her clothing purchases second-hand. As places to shop, he particularly singles out recycling centers, Uff stores, online flea markets and the second-hand store chain Reloven.
– The most important thing for me when shopping for clothes is the personality, ethics and high-quality materials of the clothes, Leena says.
– In particular, the quality is completely different in many older clothes compared to new ones, and that is one of the important reasons why I prefer them.

– I shop based on feelings. I buy my clothes mostly from brick-and-mortar stores like Uff and Fida. I’m primarily looking for personal finds, reveals Oona.
