This is what happens in the shock video for the new song “Zunge”

Till Lindemann’s new video premiered today (September 8th) – the clip for the song “Zunge” is what you would expect from the musician: it contains shocking and disturbing images and is therefore rightly age-restricted.

The video starts with a disclaimer that says: “All stunts and tricks were performed by professionals. Please don’t try this at home. No visuals or special effects were used in the production of the video – so that means: everything you see there was actually shot that way. Meanwhile, an endoscopy of Lindemann’s esophagus can be seen in the background.

But probably the most impressive scene in the video: Till Lindemann’s mouth is sewn shut by a doctor. Blood oozes from the openings around his lips, through which threads are pulled, and his entire face is also smeared with blood. In other scenes he eats a heart, bites into glass and lets a tiger lick blood from his face.

As you could see in the live chat accompanying the video, fans from all over the world tuned in again to experience the premiere together. Most of them are enthusiastic about the drastic clip and praise Till Lindemann for the new video: “I hope it doesn’t break and that it stays strong. Great song, I don’t want this art to disappear.”

Till Lindemann: These are the lyrics from “Zunge”

There’s a hole in the face
This is the mouth you speak with
A word comes out of thoughts
The tongue transports words
I look for questions to each answer
Must say everything, now and forever
I can speak or sing them
The words compel

My tongue has no bone
And so I say what I want
Oh, my heart, it’s broken
But it still beats, never stands still
My tongue

There’s a hole in the face
Because without language it doesn’t work
But it happens that people are wrong
When heart and mind are so confused
I have to say it, I can’t contain myself
It’s the wind beneath my wings
Is the storm beneath my wings
The words compel

My tongue has no bone
And so I say what I want
Oh, my heart, it’s broken
But it still beats, never stands still
My tongue

The fine word was always my enemy
So many words not meant that way
So much language, so mean
So many cried so much

My tongue has no bone
And so I say what I want
Oh, my heart, it’s broken
But it still beats, never stands still
My tongue is trapped
And she can’t free herself
Your teeth white pliers
Can’t sing
Don’t even scream
