‘This is very strange’

Akwasi arouses quite a bit of annoyance at Luuk Ikink by pronouncing a suspicion at RTL Boulevard. “We had some confusion. We thought it was very strange.”

A reporter from RTL Boulevard happened to meet Akwasi at the court in Amsterdam yesterday. When asked, the rapper explained that he was there because of his case against two men who threatened him with death in 2020. In the afternoon they were finally sentenced to community service and compensation for damage suffered.

Luke stunned

Once home, Akwasi suggested Instagram that RTL Boulevard is only interested in negative news about him. “RTL Boulevard was curious as to why I was in court according to my lawyer. When Boulevard found out that I was not being heard as a suspect, they apparently found this case uninteresting.”

Very strange, presenter Luuk Ikink responds RTL Boulevard† “In any case, there was a bit of confusion with us afterwards, because Akwasi posted a message on his Instagram page. We thought it was very strange.”

‘Crazy reaction’

What exactly happened according to Luke? “We were there, our reporter, for the case of Peter R. de Vries. We saw Akwasi there and the reporter briefly asked, “Why is he there?” That was passed on to our news editors, so we could keep a close eye on that news.”

He continues: “Only apparently Akwasi understood that we were no longer interested because he was not heard.”

Frank Dane: “What a crazy response.”

Lawyer denies

Gerald Roethof, Akwasi’s lawyer, denies that he would have said this to the rapper. He thus contradicts his own client.

Luuk: “After that we spoke to the lawyer for a while and he also says: ‘Yes, I didn’t tell him that.’ The lawyer also sent a neat note saying, “Well, that’s not my reading of the cases.” I don’t know exactly where that went wrong, a bit strange.”
