He can still be seen on the team photo of his club TSV Mariendorf – the season should start for him on September 3rd. But whether Police Chief Inspector Bülent L.-K. (48) will appear – probably not!

Because on Monday, a judge issued an arrest warrant against the family man. The serious allegation: Bülent L.-K. is said to have robbed a driver (62) with a previously unknown accomplice during a vehicle check on Messedamm in Charlottenburg on July 19 and stole 57,000 euros in cash – outside of working hours! Evidence was seized during a search of his home and offices.

“Investigations are ongoing into armed robbery,” said senior public prosecutor Sebastian Büchner. Because Bülent L.-K. carried his service weapon during the check. “Having a gun is enough for serious robbery,” says Büchner.

In addition, the victim is said to have been handcuffed and placed in the police car during the search.

► And so the coup flew up: when the robbed asked the police about the seized items, the bundles of money were missing. Because: Chief Inspector Bülent L.-K. only two mobile phones.

Why the man was targeted by civil investigators Bülent L.-K. got, is open. “It is still being determined whether the money belonged to him or transported it for a third party,” said the senior public prosecutor.

The case causes a lack of understanding in the environment of the accused commissioner. “He’s not a gambler who has debts,” said a colleague from Section 51 in Friesenstrasse, where Bülent L.-K. worked at the AGIA department (intercultural tasks department). Cases of illegal entry, illegal prostitution and trade in duty-unpaid cigarettes are processed there.

And someone who knows him as a footballer says: “It’s hard to believe that he is jeopardizing his civil service career and pension entitlements and becoming a robber on occasion.”

Police Chief Inspector Bülent L.-K. now has to report to a police station in Zehlendorf once a week. He did not have to go to jail for the time being, the arrest warrant has been suspended subject to conditions. If convicted, the commissioner faces at least three years in prison and dismissal from the police service.
