This is the new Wöhrl in Nuremberg

Wöhrl has opened its renewed head office in Nuremberg. The fashion retailer celebrated yesterday with invited guests. Now the customers can also experience the store.

Tetris Grundbesitz, the company behind the building, main tenant Wöhrl and partner companies have invested almost 40 million euros in the conversion and new construction, Wöhrl announced on Thursday. The existing main building was modernized and connected to a new building measuring around 6,000 square meters.

The new Wöhrl flagship store on Ludwigsplatz now offers a sales area of ​​20,000 square meters. The total area is 10,000 square meters larger with space for partner companies. The space extends over six floors in the original building and five floors in the new building. One of the highlights of the building is the 27 meter high LED wall, which is one of the largest permanently installed LED walls in Europe, according to the fashion retailer.

“The redesign of the parent company while operations continued and the expansion of our area through the new building was a real mammoth project, for the success of which I would like to thank everyone involved, the Wöhrl team and our numerous partners,” said Wöhrl owner Christian Greiner.

The highlights in the new Wöhrl

On the ground floor is the new beauty department, which offers 40 brands from the sustainable cosmetics and luxury sectors on 400 square meters. In addition, the department for younger fashion ‘U-Eins’ was expanded and expanded to include ‘The Good Fashion’, where “products from brands with ethnic and resource-saving standards are the focus,” according to the press release. The department for young and more sustainable fashion also has its own entrance from Ludwigsplatz, which was designed by Nuremberg graffiti artist Julian Vogel.

On the second floor, the shoe retailer Tretter offers its range on an area of ​​700 square meters. Other partner companies housed in the complex are the food discounter Aldi Süd, the stationery specialist Faber-Castell, Deutsche Post and the coffee supplier Nespresso. The ‘The Green’ restaurant with its own roof terrace and the ‘Kaffee Wöhrlleben’ ensure a gourmet experience on site. There is also a personal shopping area on the fourth floor, an alterations tailor, and gift and wrapping services.

“The expansion and renewal of the original store on Ludwigsplatz is a matter close to our family’s heart,” says Hans Rudolf Wöhrl, Greiner’s father and entrepreneur. “Wöhrl was founded by my father at this location almost 90 years ago and has been one of the defining companies in Nuremberg ever since.”
