Just pick up a rice table or have dinner with the family at the Chinese. Since the 1970s, more and more Chinese restaurants have been added to our city. But which one was actually the first?

The very first Chinese restaurant is Lin Wah on the Eerste Stationsstraat. We have been getting ‘just’ good Chinese food there for over fifty years: Foe Yong Hai, Babi Pangang, spring rolls, chicken satay and much more.
Take out and eat out
In the summer of 1969, the municipal council gave their cooperation for the establishment of Lin Wah. It became a Chinese-Indonesian restaurant which still stands to this day. Through the main entrance you will find the restaurant area on the left, you can pick up at the side of the building. Lin Wah is known for not using fatsin in the meals. People are often allergic to this flavor enhancer.
Fewer and fewer Chinese restaurants
The number of Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands is falling, according to this research. In the province of South Holland, too, the number of businesses has fallen and there are hardly any new restaurants being added. This is mainly due to the extensive, alternative offer of other restaurants, and young people are more likely to choose sushi, for example. In Zoetermeer, the number of Chinese restaurants remains fairly stable.
