Travis Barker and his wife Kourtney Kardashian took to social media to update their fans about the medical emergency that Barker was hospitalized on June 28, 2022.
Positive news
In his Instagram Story on Saturday (June 2, 2022), the Blink-182 drummer wrote that he is doing much better after suffering from pancreatitis.
“I went for an endoscopy on Monday and felt great. But after dinner, the pain was unbearable and I’ve been in the hospital ever since,” Barker said. “During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed in a very sensitive area that is usually treated by specialists, which unfortunately damaged an important pancreatic drainage tube. This led to severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
He continued: “I am so grateful that I am doing much better now thanks to intensive treatment.”
Wife also speaks up
Kourtney Kardashian also opened up about the incident on Saturday and expressed her gratitude. “Our health is everything, and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
“I am so grateful to God for healing my husband, for all your prayers for him and for us, for the overwhelming amount of love and support. I’m so touched and grateful,” the 43-year-old continued.
She also thanked the “specialists, doctors and nurses at Cedars Sinai who took such wonderful care of my husband and I during our stay. It’s crazy how sometimes words can’t really express the gratitude or the feelings I carry inside.”
Health problems
Blink-182’s drummer has complained about complaints in the past. In June 2018, Barker had to spend a long time in the hospital because of a severe thrombosis in both arms. Shortly after his release, a bacterial infection forced the musician to go to the hospital again. In addition, the 46-year-old got into a serious car accident with a school bus in July 2018, which he survived unharmed.
