The Passion, the musical story about the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, has been a major television event since 2011. This year the broadcast will take place on Maundy Thursday, Thursday March 28, again with an audience, from the Rond in Zeist, in front of the town hall. This year’s theme is: I believe in you.
“The Passion tells the Easter story that is about falling, getting up and starting again. It is a powerful story that will never be told, because it is surprisingly topical, especially now in these times of distrust and contradictions,” says Reinder van Dijk, producer of Philosophy of Life at KRO-NCRV. “I think it’s great that The Passion is becoming increasingly popular among young people. Younger generations are particularly concerned with questions of meaning and we give them a message of trust and connection.”
Who will take on the role of Pilate and be the narrator will be announced at a later date.
