‘This is really just evil’

Doutzen Kroes seems to have made a kind of sport out of all kinds of extremely controversial stories to post on Instagram. This time, she’s under fire for a cancer theory.

We already know her from all the conspiracy theories about the coronavirus and the reptile elite, but now Doutzen Kroes also appears to have an understanding of alternative medicine. She shares on Instagram the theory that you can fight cancer by simply walking around in the woods. Cuckoo!

Malicious

Anne Fleur Dekker, opinion maker and feminist, is quite angry about it. “We already knew that Doutzen is completely off the path, but I just saw somewhere (and I’m not going to repost it) that she has now posted an Instagram story in which she claims that going to the forest can cure cancer,” she writes. Twitter.

With this post, Doutzen really goes a bridge too far, says Anne Fleur. “This is just evil and a middle finger to anyone who has had the K or lost someone to it. The forest, don’t make me laugh. I spend hours in the woods and even if I didn’t, ffs. How are you like that?”

rickety evidence

The studies on which Doutzen relies are extremely meager, says Volkskrant journalist Emma Curvers. “The website she refers to is based on two studies from 2008 and 2010 among 12 and 13 people respectively. The 2019 meta-study therefore concluded that the evidence for physical effects of a walk in the woods was rickety.”

GroenLinks deputy Hagar Roijjackers is disgusted by Doutzen. “We have just had to say goodbye to a 48-year-old strong sporty father-of-two who has been devastated by acute leukemia. He had a house in the woods. She is evil, misleading and hurtful.”
