“This is not true, Fidan Ekiz!”

Lieke van Lexmond became last night in the talk show Op1 put to the test by presenter Fidan Ekiz. “No, but that’s not true at all! No not at all!”

It has been almost nine months since Lieke van Lexmond and her moon sister Jetteke came under fire because of their lunar calendar and their opinion about vaccinations. After very strong criticism, the Rituals was forced to take a page about their collaboration with the Lexmond sisters offline.

Fidan critical

Shortly after that Rituals riot, there was also a fuss about a discovery by Keuringsdienst van Waarde. Lieke claimed to sell ‘healing gemstones’ in her webshop, but they turned out to be completely fake. “She cashes in bullshit!”, they shouted. And Antoinette Hertsenberg was also angry: “What she does is going in the right direction medical advice

Lieke has kept a low profile, but now that she has something to promote again – a romantic comedy – she cannot escape it. She was heavily questioned yesterday in Op1 by Fidan Ekiz. “What I learned from it myself is that it went pretty well in the direction of giving medical advice,” the talk show host explained to her.

‘That is not true!’

Medical advice? That’s not right, Lieke replies. “No, but that’s not true at all. No not at all. We do not provide medical advice at all. I am not a doctor, I am not a doctor.”

Fidan: “Well, the position of the moon and ‘this month it might not be useful to get treatment for your varicose veins’, for example… That does point in the direction of medical advice.”

Lieke: “No, but that’s not in there. We don’t say things like that at all. Absolutely not even. Do you know what it is? I don’t want to go into too much detail about it either, because I’m here for the movie.”

Fidan: “Or: ‘Don’t go to the dentist.’ That might be less life-threatening… Well, well, people are talking about it, of course.”

maternal heart

Fidan: “The fuss arose, of course, especially after you signed that fire letter from Mother Heart, which called on people to only adhere to the corona measures if they were in line with their conscience. What I’ve seen is that Rituals mainly distanced themselves because they thought: we don’t want anything to do with that.”

Lieke: “Yes, but they have not distanced themselves.”

Fidan: “Well, if you take an interview offline…’

Lieke: “But they have not distanced themselves. No, but again, they have not distanced themselves. We have a very nice collaboration, they have ordered more and we will continue together. We have a beautiful stage in Germany where people love it and in the Netherlands too, by the way, so that’s not an issue at all.”

“This is getting too political!”

Fidan: “I don’t find rituals so important in this either, but what do you think of the criticism you get when you sign such a Mother Heart manifesto?”

Lieke: “But we are now entering into something very political. I am the only one not sitting here at the table from politics. I think we’ve heard enough.”

Fidan: “Then why is it something political? I just asked why you are signing that and do you understand the criticism?”

Lieke: “No, I don’t understand. I drew something right in the beginning when it just came out. Then for me as a mother it was just an important message that you always protect your children no matter what. So if something happens that may not have been tested enough at that time and is not yet an issue for children…”

Cancel policy

Lieke thinks it’s all blown up a lot. “That later on it took on a life of its own and people gave it their own twist; I have no control over that at all and I don’t really care. (…) Media has made it much bigger than it was.”

She continues: “Unfortunately, the cancellation policy also happened to us for a while, because some people find it difficult when there is a threat of a smear. Then they immediately go on hold. I really stand for what we do.”

Is she still on TV? “I do not know yet. I want to do projects where my heart lies and if that comes my way, I take it on.”
