Tim Hofman arouses Jordi Versteegden’s resentment with his attitude at the Televizier gala. The De Telegraaf reporter finds his dealings with the press disrespectful. “Really not chic.”
NPO megastar Tim Hofman suddenly disappeared from social media last month and was virtually absent for a month. The reason became known on Monday: some idiot stormed into the BNNVARA building with a firearm with the aim of killing him. And the threat of murder did not bother him.
Tim storms off
Despite all the misery, Tim showed up at the Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala on Thursday evening, where he paraded across the red carpet with his brother Rijk – despite the spicy joke he made. Tim and Rijk both wore very strange clothes, but they were very proud of that. They therefore took plenty of time to pose.
While the photographers were served at their beck and call by the Hofman brothers, the filming and writing press received no response. After the photo moment, Tim simply stormed past all the journalists at lightning speed and disappeared into the Carré theater. And you just can’t do that, says Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden.
‘Not quite chic’
Jordi really thinks it’s a shame, he says on the Telegraph site. “He already said it on social media, right? That he referred the press to the press release that went out. I thought it was striking that he showed his nose. That also shows that he will not just be sent away and that he is just at such a party.”
He continues: “But I would like to show you the way he did that. I don’t think that’s very chic. You see him here, sort of running away from the press, while just before he stands posing extensively for the photographers. Of course he doesn’t have to answer any questions there.”
‘Good evening’
It’s fine if you don’t want to answer questions, but not even looking at the journalists is just not friendly, says Jordi. “Then he sees the cameras and he kind of runs away. Then at least say: ‘Have a nice evening, I can’t say anything right now.’”
He concludes: “Understandable because of that research, but I didn’t think this was very chic.””
