The permanently occupied International Space Station, or ISS, has been orbiting the earth for more than two decades. According to Nasa, in clear weather the station can be seen with the naked eye from the ground.

Nasa maintains a convenient site through which you can track the movements of the space station. The map shows where the space station is at that moment. You can visit the shops of the station from here.

In addition to another on the same site map allows you to visit places where the station can be seen at a certain time.

Nasa has published before instructions on how the station can be detected from the sky. Hobbyists and professional photographers have been able to grab images of the station with the help of a SLR camera. Photos have been shared on Twitter, and these were collected together Digital Trends.

Roger Craig Smith says in a Twitter post he took a picture of the drive with a Canon 7D Mark II camera and a 400mm lens and dual focal length converter. Such or similar formations can also be found in the home of an amateur photographer.

You can see Smith’s picture and other images as Twitter submissions below. On Twitter, you can search for space station images by topic tag #SpotTheStation.
