This is how Tommi Liimatainen’s love of lightning was ignited

Tommi Liimatainen called Katri for Helena in winter 2008:

Katri Helena refused.

However, he heard that Liimatainen had a bad cold:

What type of person is this Katri Helena, Tommi later said he thought. No one had advised him before. He had lived alone, raised himself and also been a safe adult for his younger brothers.

At the end of the call, Liimatainen asked if Katri Helena would have a concert in Turku in the near future. It turned out that it is.

– We fell madly in love. It didn’t make any sense. It was amazing. It was wonderful. I was 63 years old and experienced everything. I suddenly fell in love so much that my whole world came crashing down.

– I can’t explain why it happened. Why him. He was good looking and I have an eye for good looking men. Still, I’ve never fallen in love just for looks. When Tommi hugged me in the church corridor, something had moved. There was something special about the hug. It was a warm and firm bear hug, even though the man was like a flower stick, Katri Helena recalls.

A sensitive matter

A love affair began, which was hidden for a long time.

When the press got a hint about Liimatainen’s visits to the singer’s place, an agreement was made with the neighbor that Tommi could park his car in their yard.

– Tommi drove his car into their yard and walked with his bags across the field to me. I was head over heels in love and happy. I was the same carefree girl as a long time ago, says Katri Helena in the book.

When the relationship was revealed, Katri Helena joked about being a fish friend. He was afraid that others would judge the relationship. However, that did not happen.

– I have the impression that people not only accept our relationship, but for many it also brings hope that love at this age and after such experiences is possible.

– According to some people, our relationship shows that it is possible for a woman to love and find love regardless of age. Still, we haven’t wanted to give public glowing stories about our relationship. Such a large age difference is a sensitive matter, and we don’t want to upset people with it.

Freely and voluntarily

At the moment, Katri Helena thinks like this:

– There will never be stages considered normal in our relationship, such as engagement or marriage. I don’t think marriage is necessary anymore. I lost faith in its meaning when my previous marriage ended.

– No matter what kind of oaths we swear, if something is meant to break, it will break. For some people and in some cases, swearing off the lights works, but at this point in my life, I only want to commit as a free person and when I want to.

Katri Helena also states in her biography:

– The relationship between me and Tommi is a love relationship that does not bind either of us. The fact that we have had to think about things has made us even closer. We are with each other freely and voluntarily, just because we want to be together.
