This is how the program manager explains the end of radio star Gerlinde Jänicke

The involuntary departure of Gerlinde Jänicke (49) at 94.3 rs2. The program director has now explained how this could happen.

Jänicke has been moderating the morning show on rs2 since 2015 and was honored with the German Radio Prize in 2017 as “Best Presenter”. But recently the ratings have weakened, which is why the broadcaster brought in a new program manager. Although Jens Küffner has only been in office since November 1, he immediately took action and created a new concept for the morning show – Jänicke is no longer in it.

Big Moe, who last moderated with Jänicke in the morning, remains with the station and gets its own show in the afternoon.

Opposite the branch service DWDL Jens Küffner now said: “For us it was crucial in which transmission constellations and with which content we trust 94.3 rs2 to increase its reach again. Such decisions are not a one-man show, but are made together with a broad consensus.”

When asked how the talks with her went, he only said: “Processes of change usually trigger reactions.”

Now the popular presenter is pausing. But what comes after that? On this Küffner: “Gerlinde is part of 94.3 rs2, although no longer in the morning show. The upcoming talks will show whether it is possible to embark on a new path together with her.”

Jänicke’s successor will be Nick Sawatzki (41). His voice is familiar to listeners in Berlin and Brandenburg – Sawatzki moderated at Radio Energy until the summer of 2021, then switched to BB Radio in Potsdam.

And the native Berliner does not come to rs2 alone. Debbie (26) from Radio Teddy will be Sawatzki’s co-host.
