Three years after the murder of his then 32-year-old ex-wife, the alleged perpetrator is in police custody in Vienna. That’s how he was caught.

The police arrested Mirko Sch, then 39 years old. quickly targeted as a suspect. He had reported the woman missing and given it to her grieving relatives.
Now the investigators had put the puzzle together, identified his whereabouts and picked up the trail. The man he was looking for was hiding in Thailand!
This is how the arrest of the killer went
On Thursday morning he arrived at Vienna-Schwechat airport and went to passport control. He wanted to go on to Warsaw (Poland).
But the Austrian police were already informed. Three plainclothes officers surrounded him, while special forces secured all exits at the same time. According to BZ information, the wanted man was completely perplexed and offered no resistance – the three-year escape was over.
The suspected murderer is now in the Korneuburg prison in Lower Austria. From there he is to be extradited to Germany in the next few days.
