This Saturday there is supposed to be a demonstration against Rammstein (“No Rammstein in Berlin!”), which starts at 2:30 p.m. at Theodor-Heuss-Platz and will run from there to the Olympic Stadium in Charlottenburg – where Rammstein will perform at 7:30 p.m . The initiative protests against the band, whose singer is accused of abusive behavior towards fans.
The police fear riots between fans of the band and opponents. “No Rammstein in Berlin!” published a thread on Twitter so that everything remained peaceful between the camps.
They write: “Come as a group – travel together – agree in advance what you feel comfortable with and under what circumstances you want to leave the demo – look out for each other”. Then, to take personal belongings with you: “ID card, insurance card, necessary medication, food and water, small change, sunscreen, hat + sunglasses, cool demo sign”. You should leave at home: “Alcohol and other drugs, pocket knives, glass bottles, any weapons”.
During the demo, the group writes, there will be “physical demarcation from the Rammstein fans for our safety,” and there are also accessible toilets at the rally at the Olympic Stadium. “Admission to the concert begins at 4:00 p.m., the concert at 7:30 p.m.”. To leave the demo, you should use the Neu-Westend subway.
There are also tips for communication: “As little as possible with the police, if you have any questions, contact the organization team + stewards”. One should like to post on social media, “but faces should not be asked”. And in general: “Consider whether you want to speak to the press.”
On general interactions: “We want to be loud, angry & show solidarity with everyone affected, be an inclusive demo” – one should pay attention to the consequences of actions.” And finally: “We have b-aware as an awareness team with a car as a retreat “.
Rammstein will play more concerts in Berlin on Sunday and Tuesday. It is currently unknown whether there will also be demos on these days.
