This is how the coronation of Charles as king proceeds

Charles will be King Charles III in the future.

When Queen Elizabeth died on September 8, Prince Charles inherited the crown. Since the United Kingdom cannot exist without a monarch, the title passes immediately from the previous monarch to the next.

Charles will be proclaimed king on Saturday at St James’s Palace in London. At that time, however, Charles was not yet officially crowned.

Before the coronation, Charles has to go through numerous traditions and practical procedures.

Charles first meets the Accession Council at an event where a statement is made on the Queen’s death. At the next meeting, Charles makes his own declaration and is sworn in as the new king. Charles is then proclaimed king.

Charles immediately inherited the crown, because the United Kingdom cannot exist without a monarch. PDO

The proclamation takes place from the balcony of Friary Court, part of St. James’s Palace. The words God save the King will be recited at the ceremony, which are also recited in the United Kingdom’s national anthem for the first time since 1952.

The symbolic rise to power takes place at the coronation, where Charles is officially crowned. For the past 900 years, the coronation has been held in Westminster Abbey. Charles is the 40th monarch to be crowned there. A coronation is a religious ceremony performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. In the ceremony, the Archbishop places the crown of St Edward on Charles’ head.

However, due to the long preparations, Charles’ coronation will probably have to wait a long time. For example, Queen Elizabeth came to power in February 1952, but she was not crowned until June of the following year.
