Alexander Volkov said he had shut down all his devices.
More than two meters Alexander Volkovin preparing for the match has been, in his words, exceptionally challenging.
The Russian, who competes in the heavyweight series (120.2+ kg), will face the home crowd in London on Saturday, Tom Aspinallin.
Arriving in Moscow from Moscow, Volkov said on Wednesday how sanctions on Russia made his trip difficult.
– I am not even carting about all the sanctions and their impact on Russian life. It took a really long time to get here to London. I would normally have flown in four hours. Now the whole trip took 24 hours – just like I flew to and from the United States.
Volkov chuckled that the same is ahead on the way back.
– In the prevailing circumstances, it is necessary to act professionally, although it is more difficult than usual.
Speaking to reporters through an interpreter, Volkov did not say a word about the ongoing war in Ukraine.
– The only way to prepare for the match was to shut down all equipment. I haven’t read any news, soma or anything about anything. I’m just focused on my match.
