Before this memorable day, the couple had been engaged for about six months. After eight years together, the Prince decided to propose to Kate in October 2010 while on holiday in Kenya. He proposed there because he wanted it to be really special.
William went on his knees in Africa
Some time ago William told during an interview with CNN that he regularly daydreams about Africa and that is why he wanted to propose there. “Kate knows what it means to me to be in Africa. I didn’t plan the proposal far in advance. I knew for a while that I wanted to do it in a place where I feel comfortable,” he said.
