Barack Obama (61) has been in town since Tuesday. The former US President will appear in the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Wednesday evening (8 p.m.). At noon he has an appointment at the Chancellery for lunch with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Obama’s private jet landed at BER on Tuesday. In a small motorcade (the ex-president is protected by the police, SEK and US Secret Service in Berlin) we headed towards Mitte. This time in Berlin his wife Michelle Obama is not by his side.
The ex-president checked into the Adlon and then visited the US embassy. Dinner was in Schöneberg, at the fine Italian restaurant “Ponte”, pasta with ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Obama for lunch with Scholz in the Chancellery
His appointments on Wednesday: Obama arrives at the Chancellery at noon for a discussion and lunch with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD).
The former US President is not expected on the stage of the Mercedes-Benz Arena until around 8 p.m. On a sofa, he talks about important topics for the future.
The 60-minute performance will be moderated by Klaas Heufer-Umlauf. Tickets are still available, costing from 105 to 550 euros. (admission 5 p.m.)
