This is how meteorologists known on television celebrate Easter

Iltalehti explained how meteorologists familiar from television plan to spend Easter.

At Easter, many expect long free and of course sunny spring weather.

Iltalehti made a tour and asked TV meteorologists what kind of plans they have for the Easter holidays, and whether the plans for summer vacation are clear.

Some of them happen to be on duty this year.

One of them is a meteorologist at MTV and Foreca Liisa Rintaniemi. She admits that she enjoys Easter.

Family traditions have sometimes included attending Easter Church.

– We have attended Easter service, so there is such a bright atmosphere.

This year, the ryegrass was not grown, but Liisa’s home has a traditional Easter bouquet that includes tulips, hyacinths and buttercups, for example.

Is there any memory left of Easter childhood?

– When I started to wake up with a friend, his mother taught us how to wake up properly. He was from Karelia, so the Easter branch had to be whipped right. Nowadays, the twig is waved lightly, so she thinks the joke was a bump, Liisa recalls amused.

Easter delicacies at work

Yle’s meteorologist is also working in Pasila Joonas Koskela. Easter delicacies are enjoyed with work friends. The man confesses to being a friend of chocolate.

– If there is a person who does not like chocolate eggs, then it is strange, Joonas continues.

– I remember from childhood that it was a big disappointment if I didn’t get Kinder eggs.

He has no special Easter traditions, in his own words, but long vacations have usually provided an opportunity to spend time with friends and family.

The man plans to spend his upcoming summer vacation in three parts during June-August.

– There are no more detailed plans yet, so let’s go according to the feeling, Joonas inches.

As a waitress

In turn, they will spend their Easter in Saariselkä, which has become known as the meteorologist of MTV News and Foreca Miina Manninen. However, a busy weekend is in store.

– I promised to be an ambulance at the restaurant. I often like to work at Easter.

He’s not going to cook Easter food, even though he likes mum.

– There’s a box of cabbage in the frost, so it should be eaten first, he laughs.

In addition to her work, Miina says that she enjoys the skiing landscape of Lapland. His latest hobby is cross-country skiing, during which he has become acquainted with Urho Kekkonen National Park.

Mina can say what the perfect weather is for skiing.

– It is frosty at night and a couple of degrees in the sun during the day. You can then bask in the rest of the day and eat, or so-called “sausages”.

Nakkikelit?

– Then it’s nice to go for a run to bake sausages. In the morning you can look out the window and say, “there are sausages here”.

Miina plans to work all summer, but there are plans for cottage weekends and day sailing.

– I dream of a short holiday trip to Normandy.

– The balcony should be ready for Easter. I might also be grilling properly for the first time this season, Pekka ponders.

In the summer, the holiday will take place in short periods, but in September there should be a longer break from work.

– September is still warm in Europe. I have not yet decided on a more detailed holiday destination. The main thing is not a hundred.

Baking allowed

Meteorologist from MTV and Foreca Markus Mäntykannas has set aside time at Easter for a cleaning contract, summer bicycle maintenance and shuttle.

– I will start my late winter holiday from Easter and Easter will continue on the way to Madrid, Spain, from where it is planned to continue by train to other destinations as well, Mäntykannas comments.

– Maybe next year I will head to Kilpisjärvi to ski and watch the northern lights, the spring winter in Lapland has not been experienced so far.

Markus tries to order some of the Easter delicacies from the restaurant at home.

– Easter eating is not really different from eating at other times. Mainly a lot of good desserts that can be enjoyed with permission at Easter. Mommy with vanilla sauce, Mignon Easter eggs with coffee and Pasha are part of the Easter bravura.

How well do you cook yourself?

– I would say that I am quite good at desserts and I am happy to try to make them this Easter. You could try a chocolate or cheesecake, for example.

Markus has scheduled his summer vacation in early August and the turn of August-September. There are plans to get to know the landscapes of Puumala and Savonlinna.

– For the second holiday, the plans have not yet been finalized, but I have been dreaming of a autumn trip north and to the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
