Hertha’s Florian Niederlechner (32 / shirt number 7) can’t get a leg on the lawn after his winter change from Augsburg. Eight games, zero goals, no template – plus the excitement of Hoffenheim’s mobile phone (1: 3). Will the striker now become a telephone joker?
TV cameras caught him as the striker, who was substituted at half-time, looked spellbound at his mobile phone display on the substitute bench (58th minute).
Niederlechner then on Instagram: “Dear Hertha fans, absolutely unfortunate scene. But I only checked the results of the other competitors with my teammate!! Not more!! I just want to stay up.”
Teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng (36): “Flo was on the phone to see how the table was. Because if you’re in a relegation battle, then you’ll see how the table is.”
