Helene Fischer had disappeared from the scene for a long time. Now she distributed harsh words against Putin and the Russian war of aggression live on stage in Switzerland at “SnowpenAir”: “I deeply despise what is going on – and especially this one person.”

Fischer is Russian by birth

Fans of the 37-year-old singer had wanted a statement for weeks: Helene Fischer was born in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk, her grandparents originally lived on the Black Sea. Recently, she has given her followers plenty of room to speculate about their views on the war. But Fischer remained silent and neither posted on social media nor made any public appearances.

She was last seen last year (heavily pregnant) on “Wetten, dass ..?”. On the stage in the Grindelwald ski resort, she was back in action for the first time since the birth of her child. In addition to performing some of her hits, she spoke, albeit sparsely, about her break: “We’ve got a lot behind us. I have matured as an artist, and a lot has happened in my private life as well.”

“I’m super emotional”

She is probably also alluding to her pregnancy, which she announced last October. If Fischer had had her way, she would have preferred to keep this news to herself, but an insider dropped the bombshell. On Sunday (March 27th) she reported in Switzerland on how she felt about the war in Ukraine and also gave information about her condition – probably postnatal: “In my acute situation, this affects me even more. I’m incredibly emotional right now, built very close to the water.”

Helene Fischer expresses solidarity with Ukraine

She does not reveal more about her private life, but the singer expresses herself very firmly about the war in Ukraine: “I deeply despise what is going on and especially this one person. I think you know who I’m talking about. This one man who has too much power.” In addition to her clear words, Helene Fischer wore a bow in the colors of the Ukrainian flag on her blouse, as a “sign of solidarity” she openly acknowledged.

And if these two statements against the Russian war were not enough for you, the German pop singer made another clear commitment shortly thereafter: your performance of the song “Freiheit” by Marius Müller-Westernhagen rounded off the statement of solidarity at your comeback show.

Helene Fischer has announced her “Rausch” tour for the coming year, which is said to have been created in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. The album of the same name had already been released in 2021, and the title “Now or Never” was heard on ARD as an Olympic song.
