This is how Aira Samulin was behind the scenes of the show

Aira Samulin’s friends got a voice in the Tanssii tähtein kenna broadcast.

Entertainment legend Aira Samulin was remembered on the live broadcast of the Dancing with the Stars program on Sunday evening. The late dancer was known to be a big fan of the show, missing only two broadcasts over the years.

On Sunday evening’s broadcast, a video clip was shown in which Samulin’s friends and colleagues spoke. Marco Bjurström recalled how Aira Samulin got excited about the TV format immediately after shaking hands. Bjurström acted as the first host of the dance competition together Ella Kanninen with.

– That’s where Aira immediately sailed in and looked closely. He very carefully analyzed and looked at all the couples, and told what he thought of each one’s steps and so on. It was really a big deal for him, Bjurström said on the broadcast.

TTK judge Jorma Uotinen described Samulin as an encouraging person. However, the dance legend gave Uotinen a strict analysis even after the broadcast.

– When we drove to Manala, then came the final analysis. That’s where the merits and demerits came in, Uotinen recalled.

Fashion influencer Sami Sykkö participated in the dance competition in 2020. He pointed out how much influence Samulin has had on Finnish dance culture.

– Aira’s legacy is so great, but maybe the joy of dancing and making young people dance and the importance that everyone is welcome. He has danced a million Finns, so yes, most of them have been children and young people, he summed up.

Samulin died at the age of 96 on October 23. It later emerged that the entertainment legend had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

The TTK program honored the dancer’s memory in a live broadcast the week of his death. In Samulin’s familiar place, a golden chair was seen with the artist’s name attached to it. The chair in question was also seen in this week’s broadcast.

Samulin’s funeral will be held in Helsinki’s Old Church on December 1.
