The arrests are the result of an investigation opened at the beginning of May following a series of robberies with force inside vehicles in the region of Anoia.
During the investigation, the Mossos determined that all the events took place in car parks in service areas or restaurants near fast roads, such as highways and motorways. The perpetrators always acted during midday, at lunch time, when the owners of the vehicles they were inside the restaurant. The group, which is made up of four people, is involved in 13 robberies with force inside a vehicle in the towns of Castellolí, El Bruc, Marganell, Monistrol de Montserrat, Manresa, Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana, Terrassa and Cerdanyola del Vallès. Shortly before the arrest, the authors had committed a robbery in the parking lot of a restaurant in Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana. The next day an entry and search was made at the home of the detainees where the fourth member of the group was located and arrested.
