In 2009, Kirkko ja kaupunki magazine asked Jere Pöyhös, who is studying at a vocational school, what he does in his spare time.

Noori Käärijä told the media about what he heard back in 2009, when Church and city -lehti asked 15-year-old Jere Pöyhö what he does in his spare time after school. At that time, he went to school at the Vallila vocational school in the field of interior design and upholstery.
– I always liked decorating when I played the Habbo Hotel game online. That gave rise to the idea of applying to study interior design and upholstery. It was clear that studies had to be something to do, because I don’t like reading. Handcrafting is also related to the fact that I like to restore my moped. I paint roofs and put its appearance in the yard. I have ordered parts online, for example the light, tail light and seat cover. The moped looks completely different now than when I got it.

Facebook and the IRC gallery were also a hot word at the time. In addition, the young Käärijä spent his time doing sports; in hockey training and on the skiing slope. However, being with friends took the most time. Poker games, mopeds and a stay at a fast food restaurant were often part of the program.
– I don’t have a so-called best friend, but all friends are equal. I meet them five times a week, or if there are game trips, we meet less often. And I can’t always meet, sometimes I want to be at home in peace.
15-year-old Pöyhönen also told about his family. When he was younger, he sometimes got into arguments with his older brother, and he played with his younger brother and picked him up from kindergarten.
– I have a good relationship with my mother, or at least it should be very good. The three of us, mother, older brother and I, went to Thailand. I go for a run with my father and he comes to watch me put the moped on. When I was in elementary school, my father helped with homework.

In an interview with A-Studio earlier this week, Käärijä reflected on the phenomenal popularity of his five-song. He himself couldn’t quite say from what Cha Cha Cha’s success is due.
– It’s a good question that will always be thought about. It was a good song and everything went smoothly for us.
