This house with swimming pool and cinema is not the house where Ad will grow old

You buy a house and know: I want to live here for the rest of my life. Ad and his wife thought the same when they bought the Heimolendreef 31 in Rucphen. And yet they move on after a year and a half. “We came across something different, which is even more beautiful.” A new story in the special houses series of Omroep Brabant.

In the search for the perfect house, Ad and his wife ended up in Heimolendreef 1.5 years ago. “It’s actually an ideal spot. The house is in a dead end street. You hear nothing at all and you sit comfortably afterwards.”

But there was more than the tranquility around the house. “It really is the whole picture. What immediately appealed to us is that there is a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. We are already a bit old. The intention was actually to really grow old here.”

At other houses in this series you also saw that people expected to stay there forever. They had gutted the whole house and remodeled it to their liking. Fortunately, that was not the case with Ad. “We did paint, but we didn’t do any major renovations. We have done a lot of work on the pool by installing an automatic cleaning system.”

That pool was also one of the reasons why they bought the house 1.5 years ago. “We both love to swim. We often went to a swimming pool. When we went looking for a house, we wanted a swimming pool.”

The real eye-catcher of the house is probably the home cinema. This is regularly used for football evenings. Ad’s colleagues and friends also know how to use it. “They regularly come by to watch an evening.”

There is also room in the house for Ad’s other hobby. “I really like billiards. It was therefore the intention that we would spend a lot of time in space. I’ve never actually sat there, because I’m just too busy,” says Ad with a smile in his voice.

Ad and his spend most of their time downstairs. “We also have four bedrooms upstairs. We never actually get there. The cleaning lady cleans a room there every week. He’s probably there more often than we are.”

Its own cinema, billiards room with tap, swimming pool and an entire top floor where you can still do everything. “And yet we leave,” Ad laughs. “Through an acquaintance, we were only able to buy an estate that is even more beautiful.” Perhaps that is where they really grow old.
