From the regional league to the national team!
Hertha professional Myziane Maolida (25) will become a national player for the first time during the upcoming international break – for the East African island state of Comoros.
The winger from the Berlin second division club was named in the squad for the upcoming games against the Central African Republic and Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers.
Maolida was born in Paris and played for all the French national teams. Maolida even played one game in the U21 team and scored one goal.
The Comoros have been courting Hertha professional Myziane Maolida for a long time
Because his mother comes from the Comoros, the left winger is also allowed to compete for the island state. According to BILD information, the association has been trying to recruit Maolida for a long time – he has now decided on the Comoros.
This is remarkable because Maolida has not had the opportunity to show himself on the professional stage this season. After his loan to Turkey fell through, the right-footer couldn’t find a new club – and was relegated to the second team at Hertha.
Since then, Maolida has only been used in the Regionalliga Nordost – far away from the first team. In eight fourth division games, Maolida scored three goals and prepared two more. And is now making the leap from the regional league to the national team.
Maolida could still leave Hertha in the winter
He may be hoping to draw more attention to himself in order to find a new club in the winter. Maolida seems to have no future in Berlin.
Tabakovic in action for Bosnia-Herzegovina
Hertha’s other new national player is completely different: Haris Tabakovic, who also has a Swiss passport, was nominated by the Bosnia-Herzegovina Association for the upcoming European Championship qualifying games in Luxembourg and against Slovakia.
Hertha coach Pal Dardai (47): “It’s wonderful, but I’ll also be happy if he comes back healthy. I will be very happy if you are invited. That’s good for the players, they get a bit out of the day-to-day business and get some good inspiration.”
This should also apply to Maolida!
