“This has been a really difficult time”

During the holiday trip, Jaatinen was in contact with doctors, her family and her spouse, as she faced a difficult decision: whether to keep the child or whether to initiate a termination of pregnancy.

Already in the early stages of pregnancy, Jaatinen started hyperemesis, i.e. severe nausea during pregnancy. Jaatinen vomited dozens of times a day, and he could only sleep.

Hyperemesis was one influential factor in Jaatinen finally ending up with an abortion. The abortion was finally performed at week 9+5.

Jaatinen produces content for the Onlyfans service. In 2022, Jaatinen told Iltalehti that he will earn five-figure sums with porn.

– I would have had to stop my job altogether and my social life would have been completely left behind. I’ve been building my business for years, and if I had to put it on hiatus for nine months without any warning, that was one contributing factor.

– The biggest influencing factor in hyperemesis was my condition. When I took a shower, I had to lie on the floor three times because my legs couldn’t support me. I’m really afraid of throwing up and I used to throw up all the time. It was horrible, Jaatinen describes.

Jaatinen had her first abortion when she was 16 years old. At that time, abortion was difficult and it did not go as planned.

– I have really tight places, which is why I had to scrape twice. The doctor told me even then that he would never recommend a vaginal birth. I’ve known it all these years.

– If I ever want biological children, I have to have a C-section. However, there is always a risk that labor would start and we might not survive it with the child.

Jaatinen is grateful to his spouse and family, who have supported him during the abortion.

– It has been wonderful how my husband has supported me. He would have been ready to be a father, but he knew that the decision was ultimately mine. Of course, he wouldn’t have wanted to go through that if something had happened to me.

Jaatinen has published a tiktok video related to abortion that has almost 300,000 views. Jaatinen wants to share his story so that someone can get peer support from him.

– I have received a lot of positive feedback for telling about my abortion. I have also received peer support myself from followers.

– Here we go one day at a time. This has been really tough. We’re alive, that’s the main thing, Jaatinen concludes.
