This garbage concept is absolute garbage…

“Bucket is always there for you” is a catchy slogan of the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR). Always?

The BSR only delivers what the district has ordered. That’s why there is only ONE orange container on the almost 700-meter-long section of Landsberger Allee between the S-Bahn station of the same name and Danziger Straße!

For a long time there wasn’t even that! The area around the Velodrom in particular, one of the largest event halls in Berlin, often looked like a rubbish dump.

For this reason, CDU district politician David Paul (33) requested several waste containers. But he got – literally – only a basket from the district of Pankow.

On July 15th it was installed in front of the Velodrome. Another bucket also hangs on the stairs to the S-Bahn station. This garbage concept is garbage!

Because the problems didn’t go away. Many people from Prenzlberg like to enjoy their evening on the Velodrom stairs. Anyone who then wants to dispose of their rubbish is faced with an overflowing bucket – and leaves their rubbish on the stairs or in the street. It’s particularly bad on the weekends.

CDU politician David Paul has been campaigning for more trash cans in Prenzlauer Berg for years. The district office reacted quickly this time – but only ordered this one ton from the BSR!

“It’s nice that there’s a trash can. But that’s not enough. It has to be refilled,” says Paul.

But so far there has only been headwind from the district. When asked by BZ, a spokeswoman said that no further buckets were planned there.
