‘This does not suit a good mother’

Johan Derksen says he fully understands Eva Jinek’s departure from RTL 4. “If you want to be a good mother, you cannot have a daily talk show on TV.”

In the end it was still a surprise: the switch of Eva Jinek from RTL 4 to AvroTros. Although the rumors about a possible transfer have been going on for quite some time, she is losing a lot of salary. It goes from 1.2 million euros per year to a paltry two hundred euros per year for TV stars; after all, there is a salary ceiling at the NPO.

More often on vacation?

Many people expect that Eva will make a daily talk show in the eve of NPO 1, at the former time of DWDD, but that is by no means certain. After all, if you start earning six times less, you will not want to continue working as much and the presenter already worked little.

It could be that Eva goes on holiday from six to nine months a year, but it could also be that she makes a weekly program for those two hundred euros a few months a year.

John understanding

According to Johan Derksen, it is obvious that Eva opts for a construction that offers her even more time with her family and he fully understands that. “I actually understand that very well, because Eva is also a vain type and she just misjudged the commercials a bit,” he says in Show news.

At RTL 4, there were many more eyes on Eva, because many people thought she would become the channel’s late-night star. In reality, she just came to work occasional shifts. “She was amazed at the salaries of the commercials. They are of course much more attractive than public broadcasting.”

Good mother

Johan thinks that the NPO can offer her more attractive working hours. “Eva now thinks: I choose eggs for my money, in combination with the fact that a second child is on the way. Then with two children, if you want to be a good mother, you can’t have a daily talk show, because you’re on all day, you follow the news, you call your editors.”

In any case, we don’t have to feel sorry for Eva, Johan thinks. “She now only has to settle for the beaming standard, but that is still a huge salary for the average Dutchman.”
