Will Michael Preetz (56) return to the football stage?
The former professional has been without a position since January 2021. At that time he was thrown out as managing director of Hertha BSC.
Now the “WAZ” reports that Preetz is one of the candidates for sports director at the bottom of the third division, Duisburg. BILD can confirm this information.
The troubled Ruhrpott club separated from sports director Ralf Heskamp (58) at the beginning of October. Since then, chief scout Christopher Schmoldt (40) and assistant coach Branimir Bajic (44) have taken over his duties.
Apparently this model is not a long-term solution. Preetz should help!
But: MSV has been interested in the ex-national striker (seven appearances, three goals) for a long time. According to BILD information, Preetz will not take over the position of sports director.
As a player, he played for Duisburg in the first and second leagues from 1992 to 1994. During this time he scored 21 goals in 71 games.
