This business will open soon in the Seghwaert shopping center

Gift & Book in the Seghwaert shopping center will close on 1 September. This means that the stationery store disappears from the streets because the business is not taken over. Entrepreneur Abdull Rhman is ready for a large-scale renovation of the building.

For more than thirty years, Zoetermeerders have been able to get magazines, school supplies, books, lottery tickets and more from Bruna, and since 2021 from Gift & Book. From September 1, we have to travel to another neighborhood for these items, because a supermarket will return.

Vegetables, fruit, meat and foodstuffs

Abdull is going to open a small supermarket on the square of the Segwaert shopping center. “We will mainly sell vegetables, fruit, meat and other foodstuffs,” he explains. “I had a similar business in Leiden and perhaps soon another one in Alphen aan den Rijn. But first the renovation of this building will start.”

Barbecue dishes

We wonder if this new supermarket isn’t too similar to MD Food just down the street from the mall. “It’s a Turkish supermarket,” explains Abdull. “I’m from Syria and I specialize in meat. Our customers will soon be able to come to us for fresh grilled and bratwurst, gourmet and barbecue dishes and a lot more.”
