Ronny and Freddie Mozer are forced to sell the bungalow where they have enjoyed living for 46 years. The couple bought the house before it was ready, so they could make their own mark. This included a seating area and open kitchen. In addition, the large, green garden is an important place for the couple. “In the middle of the civilized world, but still closed off.”
For almost 50 years, Ronny and Freddie have lived in a semi-bungalow in a residential area on Kennedylaan in Goirle. They enjoy living in the house, first together with their children, but they are now adults and have left the house.
“My husband Freddie is no longer very mobile, so the different heights in the house are a problem. Unfortunately, we have to leave because otherwise we would have wanted to live here for years,” says Ronny.
The heights are typical of the bungalow, which has a sitting area with a fireplace in the middle of the living room. The white tiles flow into a large black sofa that faces the TV, but also the sliding doors that give access to the large garden. “It feels like you are on vacation when you open the doors in the morning and walk into the garden.”
The garden is a place where the couple spend many hours. “You enjoy sitting in the greenery, which gives you the feeling that you are in the forest. This way you are in the middle of civilization, but you are still nicely isolated from the residential area,” she says. “It’s always sunny in the garden, except on the terrace where the dining table is.”
Next to the seating area in the living room is a spacious open kitchen with a round table in the middle. Just like the rest of the house, the kitchen has a sleek finish with dark colors and that is typical of the style of the residents. “Basically, we have a sleek house with little color. I like to add colors in the accessories. For example, I buy cushion covers in a different color every year.”
What is even more typical of Ronny and Freddie’s interior are the artworks that hang in different places in the house. “We love to visit museums.” Furthermore, the large amount of space is a characteristic factor in the bungalow.
“I don’t like it when things are close together,” says Ronny. And that is reflected in the spacious bathroom that is connected to the bedroom with a glass door. The tiles of the bathroom and toilet have a busy print. “We have furnished the house as it was at the time and we still think it is very beautiful.”
Furthermore, Ronny and Freddie have made office space in empty rooms in the house. There is a possibility to only live on the ground floor, but there are also bedrooms upstairs.
After years of living pleasure, the couple leaves the bungalow with pain in their hearts. “We have always enjoyed living here and we still do. When the children come, the grandchildren play very nicely in the garden and we also have enough space inside.”
