This app should now also change the live and ticket market in Germany

Like quite a few other start-ups, the following company claims to be almost revolutionizing the market it claims to be: DICE was founded in London in 2014 by Phil Hutcheon. With its approach of “changing the way fans discover, book and experience live events”, it has already worked with the likes of Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Bicep, Sam Fender, the Primavera Sound Festival and the Sacred Ground Festival and market entries in the US, France, Spain, Italy and the UK. Now it should be Germany’s turn. And Dice is cooperating with the organizer Goodlive.

Goodlive organize festivals such as Melt, splash!, Full Force, Heroes and Superbloom. Anyone who wants to buy tickets for their editions or for solo concerts in 2023 can no longer do so in the usual way from now on. He or she needs the DICE app – and supposedly only enjoys advantages from it: It is said that the app offers not only ticket purchases and their administration, but also “personalized recommendations for discovering events and artists”, the possibility of “networking with friends as well as a waiting list for sold-out events to secure last-minute tickets at fair prices”. The resale on the black market prevented in this way would also protect against overpriced tickets and fraud. Organizers who have been hit particularly hard by the ongoing corona pandemic and its consequences also benefited from this: Dice promises a “simple last-minute ticket return”. The resale via the waiting list enables “shows that are 100% sold out and thus additional income from food and drinks as well as merchandise”.

Goodlive Managing Director Marko Hegner explains the motivation behind the cooperation as follows: “DICE has been successful in international ticketing for many years and is popular with fans. We were all the happier to be the official partner for the launch of DICE in Germany this year – after Goodlive Artists, now also with our festivals. DICE convinces us on the one hand with its mobile-first concept, which also prevents resale on the black market, and on the other hand with its fair and transparent pricing. DICE corresponds to our ideas of modern ticketing, we have missed such a platform on the German market until now.”

This is what the DICE app looks like

Basically, Dice is not the first app that wants to bring concert ticket sales, communities and streaming together. TixforGigs, Bands in Town, Songkick Concerts and Eventbrite work in a way that is not entirely dissimilar. If you want to try Dice for yourself, you can download the app for iOS and Android free of charge from the respective stores. Web use should also be possible.

The official advance sale for the festivals splash!, Full Force and MELT 2023 is already running via the DICE app, and tickets for Heroes and Superbloom 2023 should also be available on the platform shortly.
