Thirty-year-old dies after car accident in Ardooie

Around half past seven, the Izegemnaar drove home on Friday evening on the Izegemsestraat in Ardooie. In a left turn, he lost control of his van at high speed. The car first hit the guardrail and then crashed into a culvert on the side of the road. As a result, the vehicle flew into the wooden fence of a house and crashed into a tree.

The new father suffered serious injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. An ambulance and MUG from AZ Delta were immediately on site and tried to resuscitate the man for another hour and a half, but the help was to no avail. Accidents have occurred in the bend before.
