NAC Breda has identified more than thirty supporters who misbehaved on November 3 in the match against De Graafschap in Doetinchem. They will all receive a stadium ban, NAC general manager Henk Valk announces in an open letter on the website of the first division club.
NAC fans, supported by those of Belgian Lokeren, threw fireworks on the field, destroyed chairs and sought confrontation with De Graafschap supporters. Most wore balaclavas to remain unrecognizable. The match, which De Graafschap won 1-0, was temporarily stopped.
“We share the deep disappointment about what happened there in the away section at De Vijverberg,” Valk writes. “It still hurts. We will not let that misconduct pass us by. Precisely because so many people turned to us about it.”
Thirty people have already been recognized based on camera images, but more images are yet to come. “As soon as they are available, these will also be analyzed and, based on this, more stadium bans will follow. The costs for the destruction and the possible fine from the KNVB will be recovered from the perpetrators,” said Valk.
