At least 13 children were killed in a shipwreck on Lake Tanda Dam in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday. This is reported by the local police. The victims are between 7 and 14 years old. On board the boat were just over 20 students from a Quranic school who were out on a picnic. Four children were saved, five are still missing.
More than 27,000 people died on Pakistan’s roads in 2018, according to estimates by the World Health Organization. In November, 20 people, including 11 children, were killed when a minibus crashed into a deep, water-filled ditch in southern Pakistan.
