Third national title and improvement of Jessica Schilder’s own record at NK Indoor

Shot putter Jessica Schilder once again proved to be in excellent shape on Saturday. The Volendam shot in Apeldoorn to a distance of 19.35 meters. An improvement of nine centimeters from her old record. With that she won her third national title in a row.

Painter punched last week to 19.72 meters in Apeldoorn. She does lead the worldwide ranking, but that attempt did not count as the Dutch record. There were only two participants in this limit competition and a minimum of three athletes must participate. Benthe Konig and Alida van Daalen came in second and third.

Among the men was Sven Poelmann of the Amsterdam Athletics Combination the best. He punched to 19.14 meters. That was enough to extend his national title. Mattijs Mols and Bjorn van Kins completed the podium.

Pole Vault

Marijke Wijnmaalen from Amsterdam’s Phanos was the best in the pole vault. She jumped up to 4 meters high, number two Killiana Heymans did the same. Heymans needed two more tries, which made Wijnmaalen the Dutch champion. The bronze went to Sanne Eekel from Huizen.

On the second day of the NK Indoor there are still plenty of medal opportunities for North Holland athletes. Menno Vloon, among others, are still in action in the high jump, Nadine Visser in the 60 meter hurdles, Koen Smet and Liam van der Schaaf in the men in this section and Lisanne de Witte and Lieke Klaver in the 400 meters.
