The game in the 3rd league between Borussia Dortmund II and Preußen Münster was canceled due to the discovery of what the police said was a suspicious object in the stadium. “There was never any danger to bystanders. The decision was agreed in close coordination between the clubs, the referees, the DFB and the responsible police authority,” said BVB on Wednesday evening. The police had the object inspected by an expert in the empty stadium.
According to the clubs, the item was found in the guest block of Dortmund’s Rote Erde stadium, which is right next to the BVB Bundesliga stadium. The game was actually scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. “An alternative date has not yet been set,” said Dortmund.
