The German basketball champions ratiopharm Ulm suffered a setback in the EuroCup.
Despite a strong comeback, coach Anton Gavel’s team lost to JL Bourg en Bresse from France with 84:89 (33:53) and thus suffered their third defeat in the ninth preliminary round game. Ulm remains on course for the playoffs in Group B.
At halftime, the Bundesliga leaders were already 20 points behind. At the beginning of the last quarter, the hosts fought their way to six points with a 9-0 run, then reduced the deficit further, but were unable to turn the game around.
The best thrower was Thomas Klepeisz with 20 points.
